Schnitz Swimming Pool & Spa

These Middle Tennessee Retires' downsized their house and were now ready for the pool and spa spill over. They had moved into a newly established neighborhood on the outskirts of Lebanon, close to Nashville. She really wanted the classic free form Kidney with a large deep end. They talked each other into the hot tub spillover spa but they really wanted a natural stone waterfall. We incorporated them together. They built an 18' x 36' kidney, but also wanted to customize the deep end hopper to have 12'6" of flat deep area. Normally not a daunting task however rock removal was a bear. The entire deep end had to be chiseled out of a solid rock. The shallow end of the pool shrunk to virtually a ledge. So this was a large pool to the underwater swimmer. It is important to the homeowner that the pool patio match the existing patio, walkways, porches and driveway. The natural Sandstone indigenous to Tennessee was chosen and the project began. Our homeowner said the colors complemented each other and the blue pool just looked so inviting he couldn't wait to come home everyday, so he never left, cause he didn't work anymore!
The Spa spillover waterfall had been a must in this design. The interior of the spa had customized seating so a concrete structure is what we went with. Blue Diamond Brite plaster with exposed aggregate made the interior finish. The homeowner loved the sunset and watching the pool and hot tub light up as the darkness set in. The melody's of the trickling water gave them many hours of tranquil memories!
